ROUTE

Saturday morning we set off on the road on the DN1 route – Ploiesti – Predeal – Paraul Rece – Rasnov – Poiana Rasnoavei Doripesco.

Here the bus leaves us and we then walk to our first objective, the Valea Cetatii Cave . We discover lakes that mirror formations perfectly shaped by water and air. These surround a hall, the Cathedral, which features a ceiling carved in volutes and limestone arches of a whiteness rarely seen in the world.

Melancholic, we head towards the edge of Rasnov where we leave the bus and walk on a cobblestone road for about an hour to the entrance to the gorge.

We cross the Rasnoava Gorges, then we turn off the road and impatiently drive along a forest road for about half an hour. In the meantime, we admire the smooth rocks that seem to be competing for height.

A steep 1-hour climb follows, then the slope eases and we pass through fairytale clearings where we regain our strength for 30 minutes.

We continue our hike to the Secuilor Cabin where we are expected to have lunch with the dishes chosen in advance by each of us or with what we brought from home. Here we take advantage of the free time and socialize to the fullest for an hour and a half.

After the break, we climb a little to the top of the meadow, then through the forest. Immediately after that, a one and a half hour descent begins to DN1, near the village of Timisul de Sus. Here we get on the bus and share the most beautiful impressions until we arrive in Bucharest around 8:30 PM.

The return will be on the route Hanul Cotul Donului – Timisul de Sus – Sinaia – Ploiesti – DN 1 – Bucharest .
